About
NorthRise Counseling and Therapy PLLC
Why “NorthRise”?

At NorthRise Counseling & Therapy, we chose our name with deep intention.
“North” symbolizes direction, grounding, and strength—an anchor point in life’s storms.
“Rise” captures our belief in healing, growth, and the power to rise above. Together, NorthRise represents a place of restoration, hope, and forward movement—no matter where your journey begins.

We are rooted in the North, in its resilient communities and natural beauty. But even more, we are committed to helping individuals and families rise—emotionally, relationally, and personally.

About Us

NorthRise Counseling & Therapy is owned and operated by brothers Carmichael Finn and Cade Finn, both licensed as Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) and Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC). As siblings, colleagues, and clinicians, we bring a family systems lens to everything we do—because we understand that healing rarely happens in isolation.

We built NorthRise as a space where clinical excellence meets warmth, authenticity, and lived experience. Whether you're navigating family conflict, substance use, adoption, gender identity, aging, or mental health struggles, we're here to walk alongside you with clarity and compassion.

Our Philosophy

At NorthRise, we believe:

-
Change happens in connection. Whether through couples therapy, family systems work, or individual healing, our relationships shape how we heal.
-
You are not a diagnosis. We honor the complexity of your identity, story, and struggle—not just your symptoms.
-
Growth looks different for everyone. We welcome all types of relationships, communication styles, neurodiversity, and expressions of self.
-
Evidence-based doesn’t mean cold. We blend research-backed approaches with genuine human connection.

Meet the Founders

Carmichael Finn and Cade Finn grew up in the same family but followed unique paths into the helping professions—each drawn by a desire to make sense of pain, identity, and belonging. As Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists and Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselors, they’ve worked across residential and outpatient care, academia, community mental health, and family systems.

Their shared values—honesty, respect, curiosity, and the belief that people can change—are at the heart of NorthRise.

Together, they bring decades of combined experience and a grounded, sibling-born authenticity to their work. They know what it means to fight for connection, to understand difference, and to believe in growth even in hard seasons.
