At NorthRise Counseling, we offer affirming, trauma-informed recovery groups designed specifically for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Whether you’re maintaining sobriety, exploring deeper emotional healing, or seeking connection with peers who truly understand, our groups provide a safe, identity-affirming space to continue your growth.

Group Options

Group One

Recovery Retreat Group​

Time: Wednesdays, 3:00 – 8:00 PM
 

Description:
A deeper, retreat-style therapy group designed for extended emotional processing and connection. This group offers more time for reflection and discussion in a supportive, affirming environment.
(Minimum enrollment required to run.)

Group Two

Recovery Maintenance Group

​Time: Wednesdays, 5:00 – 8:00 PM

 

Description:
Focused, skill-based support for individuals maintaining sobriety and emotional wellness. This group emphasizes practical tools, community accountability, and continued personal growth.

Group Three

Trans & Queer Recovery Support Group

Time: Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:30 PM
 

Description:
A smaller, identity-centered group offering peer and therapeutic support specifically for trans and queer individuals in recovery. Safe, affirming, and community-driven.

Therapeutic Methods

Our approach integrates evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities, including:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Attachment-Based Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Transgenerational and relational approaches

These methods support deep emotional healing, identity integration, and long-term recovery.

Located at Odigo Wellness, 3115 Hennepin Ave S., Minneapolis, MN. Open to individuals in all stages of recovery (post-treatment, maintenance, or relapse prevention). Led by Cade A. Finn, MA, LMFT, LADC — a licensed therapist with expertise in LGBTQIA+ identity and trauma recovery. Inclusive of all gender identities, orientations, and lived experiences. Insurance accepted, including Medical Assistance/Medicaid.
